Stalls are available in the open class horse barn, the fee is $5.00 per stall, Open Class horse exhibitors are not required to keep horses at the fairgrounds.
Entries Accepted:
1. Online Entries will be accepted until 5:00 pm on Tuesday of fair week. Entries in the Fair Office will be accepted Wednesday and/or Thursday of fair week.
2. Entries for Open Class Horse games can be made in the fair office or online. Early sign up is encouraged.
3. Entries will be accepted until the start of the event.
4. The events will begin as listed in the fair book. There MUST be 3 entries to have a class. If less than 3 entries, classes may be combined.
Specific Rules:
1. Exhibitor is responsible for providing their own feed and containers for feed and water.
2. Stalls will be cleaned by the exhibitor and done by 8:00 a.m. daily.
3. Straw Bedding for stalls is provided by the Sherman County Fair Board.
4. Premium pay out times and days will be announced during fair week (if applicable).
- Fair board decisions are final.
- Games are timed only, will not be judge
- Games are Non-sanctioned (practice pen setting)
- Animals must be owned by exhibitor to be eligible.
- Age of rider computed as of August 1st of current year.
- Riders must have control of their horse. Please use proper equipment for your horse to ensure your safety and the safety of others. If the fair board or horse superintendent deem a horse and/or a rider unsafe, they will be asked to leave the arena or the fair grounds.
- A stall fee of $5.00 per head is required and is non-refundable on all open class horse stalls. Stalls must be cleaned after exhibit is removed (no later than 8:00 a.m. Sunday of fair week) and signed off by the barn superintendent. If stalls are left unclean, any premiums will be forfeited and a cleaning fee may be charged by the fair board.
- Owners of the horse will be the only rider.
- NO Double riding on the fairgrounds.
- Riding and warm up areas will be designated, all other areas on the fairgrounds will have the owner leading the horse at a walk to the riding/warm up area, barns or to your trailer/tack area. STAY OFF THE GRASS!
- There will be no running of any horses in the non-riding/warm up area, offenders will be asked to leave the fairgrounds. SAFETY MUST BE FIRST!
Premiums for Open Class Horses games:
NO Premiums will be paid for horse and kid games, prizes may be awarded.
