2026 Special Contests

Entry Fees:

1. No Entry fees for this division

Entries Accepted:

1. Online Entries will be accepted until 5:00 pm on Tuesday of fair week. Entries in the Open Class building will be accepted from 11:00 am until 5:00 pm on Wednesday of fair week.

2. Entries for the Special Contests are made in the Open Class building, located under the main grandstands.

Release of Exhibits:

Exhibits will be released on Saturday of fair week Between 4:00-6:00 p.m. (no early dismissals) this time is subject to change and will be posted in the Open Class Pavilion and announced during the fair week.

Specific Rules:

1. Read carefully all the general rules in the front of the Premium Book.

2. All exhibits of Special Contests must have been grown or created during the last 12 months.

3. All exhibits will be disposed of by Superintendent unless claimed by end of Fair. (Read general rules for exhibits to be picked up).

4. For The Pioneer Award ~You MUST be a Sherman County Resident~ $100.00 Cash Prize
Awarded to the Pioneer with a variety of skills.

• Exhibitor must enter three exhibits in three divisions: Arts, Crafts and Hobbies; Clothing and Needlecraft; Flowers; Hay and Grain; Kitchen Products; or Land Products
• There must be three exhibits in each division, for a total of nine (9) entries in this special contest. Do not enter three like items: e.g., three jars of peaches, or three knot potholders of the same pattern
• Exhibitor will enter the exhibit in Division, Lot and Class as a regular entry, but will also indicate on entry form that it is to be considered for the "Pioneer of the Year" award.
• Exhibitor entering this contest must specify classes to the Department Superintendent at time of entry and cannot enter these items in any other special contest.
• Participant cannot be a professional.
• Winner is decided by points. Blue 100-90, Red 89-80, and White 79 and below.
• In the event of a tie, the Superintendent will decide according to complexity and workmanship of the articles entered.
